Last year while researching the toxicity of non-stick pan after seeing the movie Dark Waters, I decided to change everything in my kitchen to non-toxic. I spent a lot of time searching the web, but finding something unbiased/neutral is a challenge today.
I finally came across a website of a woman who does her own research.
I took the time to look at her methodology and experiences and found it to be as close as I could get to have accurate information. Obviously it's not perfect, but from a scientific point of view it's going in the right direction. Considering that most scientific research today is biased, in conflict of interest, or even fraudulent.
Her site does not stop at skillet and pan but has a lot of products on the market that contain lead and other toxic products.
Her site is a wonder to find products that are healthier and more respectful of human beings. More than 3500 posts on different subjects, items, articles, etc.
I let you discover it here:
As of this moment [2/13/23] there are over 3,500 posts on the Lead Safe Mama website, with freely available resources and information for parents, communities and families. This website is basically unlike any other website — in that I (Tamara Rubin) am personally conducting and reporting on consumer goods test results. Most of the posts and articles are reports that include full test results for consumer goods I have tested (using XRF technology), but some are overview articles for categories of products, and others have answers to broader questions and concerns about Lead exposure that have been asked by Lead Safe Mama readers over the years. As with any informational database, a quick tutorial is usually warranted – to help folks discover how to efficiently get around, and find what they are looking for (or maybe just explore and discover!)
With an average of 27,000 page views a day [in 2023], I simply do not have the time to answer everyone’s questions personally, So I have invested a lot of time and thought to set this website up with SEVERAL features to help make it easy for you to find what you are looking for.
The video below is just 16 minutes long – by taking the time to watch it you will have the tools you need to find everything you are looking for here on the website… so please do take the time. You do need to watch it with the audio on (although I will work on getting subtitles on it soon).
I would also truly appreciate your feedback (let me know if it was helpful, and if anything is missing!)
Thank you. TamaraRubin #LeadSafeMama
