NAD Boosters
With recent advances in research on aging and longevity, David Sinclair, a researcher at Harvard University, brings us new scientific evidence that NAD boosters can promote lifespan on mice.

At the beginning of 2020, several researches on humans are already underway on these NAD boosters including NR (nicotinamide riboside) and NMN (Nicotinamide mononucleotide).
NAD+/sirtuin/PARP
WHAT IS NAD ?
Cardiac and cerebral ischemia, Alzheimer's disease, type II diabetes induced by diet and age, obesity, all linked to NAD+ deficiency

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is one of the body's essential cofactors which plays a critical role in redox regulation and serves as a signaling agent in different biological and metabolic pathways

We also use the term NAD+ which refers to a reduced and oxidized form of NAD

NAD+ it's a molecule used in many different mechanisms within the body

NAD+ is essential for a group of enzymes called PARP (Poly (ADP-ribose) Polymerase) that help with DNA repair

NAD+ is essential for another group of enzymes called sirtuin which can help reverse DNA damage, lengthen telomeres, and reduce levels of inflammation

If you don't have the appropriate level of NAD+ those enzymes will not work properly

As we age, the level of NAD+ decreases, which is considered a characteristic of aging
A depleted NAD+ level is also associated with many age-related disorders, such as metabolic disorders and neurodegenerative diseases
NAD booster
NAD + is a big molecule, we cannot just take a supplement directly because our body cannot absorb it, our body can't get it through the gut wall and into bloodstream

NAD boosters are small molecules that are needed to increase cellular NAD+ levels

We have to take molecules or precursors which can be transformed into NAD+ in our body as we can easily absorb these precursors such as NR and NMN

These molecules are promising because of the anti-aging or lifespan effects
NMN / NR
Why NMN or NR and not NAM (nicotinamide) or NAPRT (Niconic acid)?
Studies have shown that NAPRT and NAM have side effects and a regular intake of this type of supplement could be harmful in the long term
NR and NMN have shown to be safe

NR : there are a few studies that demonstrate that it is very effective in humans

NMN : there are currently no studies that have been done on humans, but several studies on mice have demonstrated its effectiveness

The difference between NR and NMN is that NMN converts directly to NAD +, while NR must first convert to NMN and convert to NAD + to be effective
So with NMN there is one step less to get the desired results

Oral administration of NMN is rapidly absorbed. Absorption begins in 2-3 minutes and is completely absorbed by the tissue in 15 minutes.
It is therefore quickly converted to NAD +

As a precaution, Dr. Sinclair takes TMG with NMN in case of depletion of the methyl groups in the body
Resveratrol
Resveratrol is a compound that can be found naturally in certain foods, including the grapes, red wine, japanese knotweed (giant knotweed), peanuts, cocoa, and berries. It is produced by the plant as a defence against diseases

Resveratrol has been shown to protect against cell damage that revolves around the risks of cancer. It can help prevent aging, multiple sclerosis, joint disease, Alzheimer's disease, macular degeneration, cataracts, Lyme disease, neurodegenerative disease, Parkinson's disease and cell damage

It is reputed to have cardioprotective effects, anticarcinogenic, antiviral, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties

Resveratrol is a popular dietary supplement for its ability to activate sirtuin proteins in our body

When the sirtuins are activated by Resveratrol, it needs NAD+ for energy

Now we know that our level of NAD+ decreases with aging
This is why it is paired with the NMN or NR.
The NMN/NR will increase the NAD+ which will allow the sirtuin to do its job
Studies show that we need a large amount of Resveratrol to have the effects

At least 1g/day

A diet rich in Resveratrol brings no improvement in health

Resveratrol has been used for many years and no safety concerns have been reported

The major problem with Resveratrol supplements is its absorption rate

Studies have shown that the size of micronized particles increases the absorption rate up to 1000%

David Sinclair takes his Resveratrol with yogurt because it is a fatty substance that facilitates its absorption
Only trans-resveratrol offers health benefits
CIS form offer no health benefits
''Pure Resveratrol'' does not mean pure trans-resveratrol

Always looking for a product of high purity 98% and more
Low purity Resveratrol may cause gastrointestinal side effects
Make sure there are no metal
